The Buoyant UI concept
A Rainmeter UI with a little something extra
~ Yes, I would love some critique so that I might be able to take this further! ~

I'm one of those insane people who just aren't content with the user interfaces of current computer OS'es and I therefore like to experiment with my options. My previous work has covered various third-party applications for Windows that enable customization of the visual aesthetic - Rainmeter is definitely the most influential of the bunch.

But whereas my setups are usually more or less static, I wanted to this time do something different; I've animated the theme that I actually have running on my computer and thus made it just a slight bit more enticing. It portrays what I personally regard as necessary functions of a desktop environment, aka the "landing page" of your computer experience.
Update
Thank you to Lifehacker for featuring the theme on their website!
Disclaimer:
Seeing as Rainmeter is open-source I feel like I owe credit to the artists behind the elements that I employed in the setup:
// Proper credit goes to HipHopium for 'Simple Clean', the source of the time skin
// Aiden Drew for the very stylish suite skin Rusa Jantan of which I use the dock skin, although I have edited it slightly
/ I used icons from the free package at Modern UI Icons.com
// dscnctvd for the modded volume control skin, which I have not yet added to the animation
/// I created the E-mail icon on my own and used Facebook and Twitter's official logos edited with white coloring for the 'New in'
- This element only exists in the animation and is not part of my actual current setup
- Same goes for the entire lock-screen in general. Everything in that part of the video is set up manually
Wallpapers used are 'Turjuque Growing' for the lock screen and 'Grey Pier Scenery'
