In the build-up to my final dissertation project I wanted to look into the pros and cons of emerging technologies like Augmented Reality and I thought about how annoying it would be if advertising would begin to not only interrupt YouTube videos but maybe they would also begin putting holographic content in the world around the user, in order to create a stronger emotional appeal. Just imagine seeing a photo-realistic Coke can in front of you - wouldn't most of us start to feel thirsty for a Coke if it was right there for the taking? Too bad it's just a hologram, better go buy one!

I never claimed this was a very serious project; it was just part of a demo showcase where I tried to communicate to my tutors what my angle was for the dissertatioon, that I aim at discussing utopian and dystopian aspects of innovative technology, and how Moving Image may be able to add a new layer to UX design, to enhance the practice of developing experiences for these new Head-Mounted Displays.
Let's see what comes out of it.
